The second section will focus on the actual teaching of yoga and all the essential things around/related to the teaching of this amazing practice of yoga.

The full training is offered via pre-recorded video modules so you can proceed at your own pace! You will have access to all the videos for a full year (if you don’t get through it all, let us know :). Intensive 1

  • You will learn an approach to teaching yoga rather than trying to conform everyone to teaching the exact same style. You will learn the essence of the poses: what each pose feels like, the energy of the movements, the fundamental anatomy and alignment, ways to adapt poses to make them do-able for any population, and also why we do them at all! You will learn to read bodies and tailor your instructions to what you see in front of you, instead of trying to get everyone to fit inot one “perfect” shape. We will redefine perfect together! We will also talk about yoga philosophy, practice breath work and chanting - yoga is so much more than just asana (pose)!

  • coming soon in 2024!

Intensive 2

  • We will take a deep dive into seated poses! We will examine common threads and then explore the vast world of seated poses. You will learn the “full expression” of each pose as well as lots of ways to modify and, most importantly, how to spot someone needing a modification. We will weave bandhas into the practice as well as our deepening philosophy discussions. See you there!

We would not be able to do them all, of course, but by the end of this weekend you will have a deep understanding of twisting - the energy, the breath, the anatomy, the focus, common threads through all the twists, and much more. So much good stuff! We will have time for some yoga philosophy. We will discuss, practice and learn together!

Sunday, July 16: 12:15PM - 4:15PM, in person or Zoom

  • This weekend intensive will focus on backbending poses. We love backbends! They're the perfect counterposes to life, opening our hearts and engaging the thorasic spine. They'll keep us standing tall and breathing deeply! We'll examine how the energy moves while we're backbending, the breath, the anatomy, contraindications, props and support, common threads through all our backbends and much more. So much good stuff! Don't worry though, we always have time for some yoga philosophy :) We’ll discuss, we’ll practice, we’ll learn!

While this workshop is designed for yoga teachers wanting to advance their knowledge and practice, we welcome earnest students of yoga also wanting to do the same.

You'll learn the logic behind this practice plus benefits and risks, when this practice is useful and when it should be avoided. We will also explore with the Yoga TuneUp balls and feel lots of feels! As Jill Miller says, "the body thinks in feels". And of course, we always have time for some yoga philosophy :) We’ll discuss, we’ll practice, we’ll learn!

We'll discuss the benefits of restoratives, the use of (so so many!) props and most importantly, how to create a space that will allow people to receive all the goodness of this amazing practice. We will also discuss and practice Yoga Nidra, a wonderful meditation practice that helps to relieve stress, reconnect to the body and the moment, finding peace as you are and with everything just as it is :)

And of course, we always have time for some yoga philosophy. We’ll discuss, we’ll practice, we’ll learn!

We'll do some asana, breathwork and meditations incorporating the energy of the chakras. We'll discuss the energetic properties, elements, colors, shapes, etc. All the stuff you've always wanted to know and then some! Plus, we'll have a special guest teacher on Saturday - Regan Mozingo! She has a rich and deep knowledge of this subject that she'll be sharing with us :)
