Yoga is an amazing practice.  It builds strength and flexibility.  It relieves stress and calms the mind.  It can be a powerful tool in recovery – helping manage or even eliminate physical pain.  Yoga is a great addition to any workout regime or as a stand alone practice.  There is yoga for every body, at every stage of life.  The practice can always meet you right where you are.  If you’re not sure, let us reassure you – yoga is for you!

We are a boutique yoga studio located in lovely, old town Granada Hills.  We offer vinyasa flow yoga for everyone from beginners to advanced students, as well as gentle yoga, restorative, therapeutics (for those recovering from injuries or with limited mobility), kundalini and a cardio/yoga fusion.  In addition, we have specialized workshops every month including a monthly healing sound bath!  Check out the schedule page for more information and to book a class (we can always get you set up at the studio, too).  We are so thrilled to be here in Granada Hills – we’ve needed a yoga studio here for a long time and now we have one. I’ve been practicing yoga since 2000. I love anatomy and alignment. I enjoy teaching the details and intricacies of the poses and strive to bring that knowledge to my students. As a SmartFlow teacher, my goal is to foster intelligent and alignment based practice that will help to prevent injury and allow students to practice for a lifetime. Because I came to yoga as an athlete I have a deep appreciation for how yoga can help condition as well as restore the body, so I use both of these elements together in my teaching. I love teaching yoga, especially helping students discover that they’re actually capable of so much more than they thought! If you’ve never done yoga before, don’t worry, yoga is for anyone and everyone looking to get to know themselves and their bodies better.

I heard about your survey for the possible afternoon class that we talked about and wanted to make sure I filled it out to give you my input, even though you know how I feel about it and would love for you to add more classes whether they are in the afternoon or morning.     • Hi Raquel :) It’s an email survey but I think you saw it now. It’s looking pretty good! I think I’m going to try a Monday/Wednesday 12:30 class and see how it goes. The more the merrier, right? Lol

  4. Hi! My husband and I are interested in trying a class this weekend. Do we need to sign up for the class or do we just show up?

    • You can sign up on line if you’d like but it’s not necessary. We can do that at the studio. All the classes are drop in. Thanks for asking :)

  5. Are you still presenting the offer for one class free (I will come today) and you will sell the groupon to me directly, most like after the class?

    Lastly, would you mind giving a brief overview of the classes offered today? I am not well versed in that area.

    • Hi Jenn,
      There’s a workshop today about the pelvic floor (not free) and two more regular classes that you could try for free. A meditation class at 4:30 and a relaxing, easy restorative class at 6:00. They are both appropriate for beginners. The groupon is still available for purchase as well.

  6. Hi Christine I’m interested in the 14 day new student special. What time is best to come on Monday to start? I’ve done beginners yoga before but it’s been a long time and I really want to get back into it. Tnx. Irene

    • Hi Irene,
      We have a few options on Monday depending on when you’re available. 7am is yin, 9:00 is a level 1/2 which may be a bit much for your first day back so you could do the gentle class at 12:30 instead or 6:10 in the evening. Check the schedule page and look for level one or gentle classes to start. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  7. Hi Christine,
    I have been coming to PremaYoga for a few months now and love the classes and the environment. However, I haven’t yet found the class which is right for me (I have tried Level 1 and Level 1/2 with various teachers. I’m finding that I am in the unfortunate position (no pun here) of somewhere in the middle of these two levels. Do you have a suggestion on which teacher and which class would be more appropriate for me. PS. I have been practicing yoga for about 10 years now. I am 60 years old but very fit.

    • Hannah has a good level one class on friday morning at 9am – a stronger level one. Also her Mon/Wed level 1/2 is good but maybe a bit much. Friday level 1/2 could also work (10:45) – Amabile is going to be subbing for Regan while she’s out on maternity leave. Also Sunday level one with Maureen – that’s a solid level one class. It’s at 12:30. She also has a good but not too hard level 1/2 on tuesday and thursdays at 5:30. Hopefully one of those will work for you but let me know if you need more suggestions :)
